Which session type is best for us?
We offer a few session types to make sure you get exactly what you want from your portraits. Half Sessions are perfect for smaller portrait sessions when a seasonal mini isn't just enough. These are offered on weekdays at select locations, such as Mossy Oak, New Symrna Beach, Mill Lake and Studio. Classic Sessions are a more typical family session. This allows plenty of time to roam your location of choice or change outfits. You'll receive a variety of poses for each family member/group. Extended Family sessions are perfect for getting grandparents, aunts, uncles and all cousins together.
Where is your studio and do you travel?
Shell Studios is located in historic Orange City, FL 32763, conveniently located about 10 minutes from exit 104 or 114 off of I-4.
We offer in studio, on property and a variety of locations around Central Florida included in our session fees. Travel quotes are available for further locations.
What should we wear?
Shell Studios is happy to provide wardrobe consultation and has a client closet available for sessions. We recommend dressing for the occasion while still being comfortable and allowing each person to dress for their personality. Jewel tones, pastels and neutrals will go with any scene. Bright colors and patterns should be used sparingly to keep the focus on your family vs the clothes.
When should we schedule our session?
As soon as you have an idea of location and general month, please reach out. Certain locations are only available during specific times/dates. Weekends fill up quickly especially as the holidays approach. In the summer we often have to be at mercy of afternoon thunderstorms. Most locations are best about one hour before sunset. This may mean a 7:30p start time in the summer but during winter/spring it is much earlier and tends to be better for families with younger children
When will we get our photos?
If requested, a sneak peek will be posted on our Facebook Page within 3 days. Your online proofing gallery is emailed to you in 10-14 days. Final images are fully retouched and sent for download within one week.
How many images will we receive?
Your private proofing gallery will have up to double the amount of images included in your choosen session type. This gives you the ability to have the final choice in your images. Don't worry, if you fall in love with more than your package, there are digital and print upgrade options available within your gallery!
